Senior Meals

Seniors must maintain a healthy weight to ensure they stay active and independent. Unfortunately, more than 14,000 Seniors in our community have an income of less than $25,000 a year – leaving many with the choice whether to pay for their bills or buy healthy food. Volunteers of America partners with Highland Center Ministries to provide bi-weekly meals, as well as tips to help you eat well on a budget.

Senior Lunch Bunch

We have a meal and fellowship every Monday and Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Highland Center Gym, 520 Olive Street, Shreveport LA. For $3.50, seniors enjoy a “like home cooked” meal served by volunteers as well as lively entertainment, informative speakers, armchair aerobics, great conversation and friendly people. We could always use new speakers and fun activities for the seniors. Please contact Haylee Crawford at 221-2669 or fill out an online volunteer application.
