Rural Veterans Health Outreach


If you can’t get to the VExterior 3A, Volunteers of America of North Louisiana will bring the VA to you.

Through a grant from the VA’s Office of Rural Health, Volunteers of America of North Louisiana connects Veterans, families and caregivers to physical and mental health services in rural and underserved communities.

Services Include:

  • The Rural Vets Mobile Clinic providing telehealth connectivity to VA providers, as well as a Registered Nurse to provide health assessments, patient education and other medical services.
  • The Rural Vets Case Managers provide in-home visits and intensive case management to include resource management and referrals for Veterans.
  • The Case Managers and RN work together to offer a holistic approach to ensure each clients’ physical, social and mental needs are met.


Where are Services? Coverage area includes 22 parishes and 22 counties listed below encompassing approximately 31,400 square meals and reaching 154,000 Veterans living in rural communities.


Louisiana: Caddo, Bossier, Webster, Claiborne, Union, Lincoln, DeSoto, Sabine, Bienville, Jackson, Ouachita, Red River, Natchitoches, Morehouse, Richland, Franklin, West Carroll, East Carroll, Tensas, Grant, Rapides and Vernon


Texas:  Bowie, Cass, Marion, Harrison, Panola, Shelby, Rusk, Gregg, Upshur, Red River, Titus, Morris, Camp, Nacogdoches, San Augustine and Sabine


Arkansas:  Sevier, Little River, Miller, Lafayette, Columbia


Oklahoma: McCurtain
