LightHouse Graduates Return Home

Last Wednesday twenty-two LightHouse graduates gathered at the Travis Street site for their annual reunion and Christmas Party.  Each year, the LightHouse hosts a reunion to allow staff and friends the opportunity to reunite, catch-up and celebrate the holidays.  Dr. Donald A. Webb was in attendance and spoke about his relationship with the after-school program.  Dr. Webb introduced the guest speaker, Teddy Allen.  Mr. Allen spoke to the youth about making the most of the opportunity they have before them and that sometimes you have to work hard to accomplish your dreams.  He also reminded the youth that they have someone who believes in them and is always cheering for them, the LightHouse staff and volunteers.

Each graduate was asked to introduce themselves and to give an update as to how they are doing.  What a diverse group - a pediatrician, a social worker, a nurse, a grahic design student, an education major and many more.  We are also proud to say that two graduates work for Volunteers of America.  These LightHouse graduates prove with hardwork and dedication, you really can make your dreams come true.
